Economic Calendar API: Scheduled Releases as JSON

The economic calendar API returns scheduled economic releases and central bank decisions for 14 countries as JSON, with the release time in UTC and Eastern Time, the consensus forecast, the prior reading and the actual figure once published. One GET request to /calendar covers up to 92 days and needs no key.

This page covers the /calendar, /today and /week endpoints of the Finance Calendar API. For a single series use /next; for exchange closures use the holidays API.

One request

Every high-impact release in the next 14 days (the default range):

curl "https://www.financecalendar.com/wp-json/fc/v1/calendar?impact=high"

The response, trimmed to 2 of the 11 matching rows:

Common queries

US and UK, high impact, times in London:

curl "https://www.financecalendar.com/wp-json/fc/v1/calendar?country=US,GB&impact=high&tz=Europe/London"

Just the Fed and US CPI, as a calendar subscription:

https://www.financecalendar.com/wp-json/fc/v1/calendar?series=fomc,us-cpi&format=ics

November 2026 in Berlin time, euro area and US, with exchange holidays mixed in:

curl "https://www.financecalendar.com/wp-json/fc/v1/calendar?from=2026-11-01&to=2026-11-30&country=US,EU&include=holidays&tz=Europe/Berlin"

Only rows whose date is still an estimate, so you know what might move:

curl "https://www.financecalendar.com/wp-json/fc/v1/calendar?status=estimated&to=2027-01-19"

Today and this week

/today returns today’s rows (New York date), whether the NYSE is open right now, and any exchange closures today. /week returns Monday to Sunday for this week, or next week with which=next. Both accept country and tz; /week also accepts impact.

curl "https://www.financecalendar.com/wp-json/fc/v1/today"
curl "https://www.financecalendar.com/wp-json/fc/v1/week?which=next&impact=high"

The top of a /today response:

{
  "date": "2026-10-19",
  "market": { "exchange": "nyse", "open": true, "label": "NYSE open", "holiday": null },
  "count": 2,
  "events": [ ... ],
  "market_holidays": [ ... ],
  "attribution": { ... }
}

Reading a row

  • date is the calendar date the row is filed under. time_utc and time_et are the exact instant; use them for anything time-sensitive. Where a row comes from an event page on this site, date can be the New York date rather than the publisher’s local date, and note says when the official calendar gives a different day. All-day rows have all_day: true and no time.
  • period is the reference period, for example “September 2026” or “Q3 2026”.
  • status is confirmed when the publisher has put the date on its calendar, estimated when it comes from a rule, and released once actual is in.
  • consensus appears roughly 2 days before the release. actual arrives within the hour of the print.
  • url points to the preview and results page on this site where one exists. source_url is the official calendar.

Paging and caching

A 92-day window can hold several hundred rows. Use limit=500, or page with offset until count plus offset reaches total. Responses are cached for 5 minutes, so there is no benefit in polling faster. To catch moved dates and new actuals without re-reading the whole window, poll /changes once an hour.

Frequently asked questions

Why are market holidays missing from my results?

Since v1.1 holiday rows are opt-in. Add include=holidays to mix them in, or category=market-holidays for holidays only.

Can I get more than 92 days?

Not in one request. Make several requests, or download the full dataset, which covers 12 months back to 400 days ahead.

Which countries are covered?

14: United States, United Kingdom, euro area, Germany, Japan, Canada, Australia, China, Switzerland, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, India and Hong Kong. /countries returns the series and event count for each.

Is there a CSV?

Yes. Add format=csv to any /calendar or /week query. The columns match the JSON fields, with a time_local column when you pass tz.
